MDU IS AT IT AGAIN

MDU IS AT IT AGAIN

MDU has filed a gas rate case asking for an overall 8% increase. However, residential users, like you, will pay almost 13%. AARP questions the company’s claim that you are not paying enough. It is unfair to make residential bear most of the increase.

Also, the customer charge would increase $6 a month to $27 per month. MDU already has among the highest customer charges in the country. The monthly charge should be rolled back, not increased again.

You can take action now to fight this rate increase. Share your thoughts with the Public Service Commission below.

Oppose MDU's Unfair Rate Proposal
Dear Decision Maker,

I am a Montana Dakota Utilities (MDU) customer who is concerned about MDU's proposal to raise my natural gas rates. I am asking you to reject their proposal.

MDU's proposal is unfair to consumers like me. MDU should not be allowed to raise its fixed charge again after having just done so in its last case. The fixed charge is already too high and shouldn't be raised again.

Additionally, the proposal unfairly targets residential payers like me. The overall increase is 8% but my rate is proposed to up 13%. That isn't fair and residential payers should not bear most of the increase. Why isn't the increase shared equally by all of MDU's customers?

Finally, we are in the middle of a pandemic. Raising rates at a time when there is still high levels of uncertainty for customers like me makes no sense.

I encourage you to reject MDU's proposal to increase my natural gas rates.

Sincerely,
