It's time to speak up about your power bill!
Alabama Power customers pay some of the highest bills in the South, and AARP Alabama has been working to lower them.
Around the country, utility companies earn an average of 10 percent profit. That profit, called "return on equity," is the profit after operating expenses and salaries have been paid. Alabama Power is allowed to earn 13 to 14.5 percent profit, which comes out of family budgets and goes into the pockets of stockholders.
AARP wants to hear how a lower power bill would make a difference to you and your family’s budget.
