Take 5 to the polls
Will you go the extra mile to make sure voters in YOUR community also make their voices heard at the ballot box?
Help get five friends, family members, or neighbors to their polling places or ballot drop-off boxes and encourage them to vote. Here’s how:
- Choose five people in your life who you’d like to reach out to about voting. You could choose a neighbor, close friend, family member — the choice is yours!
- Figure out how you’d like to help. Willing to give your book club buddy a ride to the ballot box? Can you help your neighbor check their registration?
- Make it fun! Grab a bite to eat after you cast your ballots or look at AARP’s state election guides over a cup of coffee.
Are you ready? We’ve prepared pre-written messages to help you reach out to your five people. Copy and paste the message below and send it to five people you know. Send it over email, text, Facebook, WhatsApp or whatever you use — or call them up and read this aloud over the phone! You are also more than welcome to personalize this message by adding your own flair:
- Do you have a plan to vote? I’m here to help! Let me know if you need help getting to the polls. AARP also has trustworthy information on when, where and how to vote here:
