TELL CONGRESS: America needs family caregivers. And they need a tax credit.

48 million Americans care for their parents, spouses and other loved ones. They sacrifice their time, energy, and resources—and often, their effort goes unrecognized. But the truth is, we need them. And Congress must meet caregivers’ needs for financial relief.

Tell your lawmakers: support Credit for Caring—a tax credit family caregivers need.

Family caregivers spend over $7,000 a year out of their own pockets to help care for their older loved ones to keep them home, where they want to be. They pay for home improvements like building ramps or installing grab bars, home care aides and adult day care, transportation and so much more.

Family caregivers can’t afford that. And we can’t afford to ignore them. The bipartisan Credit for Caring Act could help offset these costs by providing a federal tax credit of up to $5,000 to family caregivers who qualify.

Most family caregivers are also juggling full- or part-time jobs and too many have had to quit their jobs or reduce hours at work due to caregiving. They need support now. America’s long-term healthcare system won’t work without them.
