The current cost of prescription drugs poses a significant burden to midlife and older adults. Our latest research shows eight in ten (82%) adults 50 and older describing them as too expensive.
From 2009 to 2019, the price of insulin tripled, although the product did not change. High prices have led a growing number of people to ration or skip insulin doses because they can’t afford the medications.
Insulin caps, like those in HB 1114, make this life-saving drug more affordable and accessible for many older adults. We're urging the Governor to sign HB 1114 and cap out-of-pocket insulin and supplies costs at $25 per month for all segments of the North Dakota insurance marketplace.
We need Governor Armstrong to sign House Bill 1114 to help make insulin more affordable in North Dakota. Contact the Governor today and urge him to sign House Bill 1114 into law.
