TAKE ACTION!
Elder financial exploitation is a serious and growing concern. It can devastate older adults’ financial security, wiping out retirement savings with little chance to recover.
A bill passed by both houses of the New York State Legislature would help protect victims of economic abuse — especially coerced debt, where abusers take out debt in a victim’s name through threats or intimidation — from suffering twice by banning the collection of debts incurred through force, intimidation, misuse of personal information, or similar methods of financial exploitation.
Join us in urging the Governor to sign this bill into law now.
