This is huge: Prescription drugs used by nearly 9 million seniors on Medicare have lower prices as of Jan. 1. This is thanks to AARP advocates like you who fought to let Medicare negotiate its prices for the first time ever.

Big drug companies rip off American seniors by charging the highest prices in the world. And now, they are pushing to delay some price negotiations. This could cost American taxpayers BILLIONS in savings. We CAN’T let this price gouging continue.

Please protect Medicare Rx price negotiations that are already saving American seniors and taxpayers money. And please vote against any bill like EPIC Act (H.R. 1492/S. 832) that would make it harder for Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices.

Medicare enrollees and American taxpayers are just starting to save on prescription drug prices thanks to these negotiations. The first drugs negotiated will fall by an average of more than 50% for people in standalone Part D plans. The prescription drugs are used by nearly 9 million seniors on Medicare and treat conditions including diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.

Across political parties, giving Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices is wildly popular. Voters know it will save them money and finally add some common sense to the way Medicare pays for medicines.

Unfortunately, the EPIC Act (H.R. 1492/S. 832) would delay these negotiations for some drugs, letting pharmaceutical manufacturers continue setting outrageous and unjustified prices.

Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars have supported the development of nearly every FDA-approved drug in the past decade. And yet, Americans continue to pay the highest prices in the world for the medicines they need. It’s a broken system that is deeply unfair to the American people. Drug companies shouldn’t be allowed to keep telling Medicare what prices to set; it needs to be a negotiation.

Put American seniors and taxpayers first. Don’t let big drug companies delay Medicare price negotiations for any drugs.
