Nearly half of all families have zero assets saved for retirement. Research indicates that Social Security alone will not cover basic needs such as food, utilities, and healthcare.

North Carolina is facing a retirement crisis that is straining budgets and impacting spending among our seniors. For too many North Carolinians their golden years will be anything but. HB 899 (NC Work and Save) helps solve the problem. HB 899 establishes a public-private partnership to provide a no-cost, plug-and-play retirement solution for small businesses to help more employees grow the savings they need out of their regular paycheck.  Three-quarters of North Carolina small business owners support a privately managed, plug-and-play retirement savings option and 79% agree that being able to offer a retirement savings program would help small businesses stay competitive. I ask for you to support HB 899 and help taxpayers save while empowering families to take control of their financial future.
