Congress: Make Americans' health care affordable

The tax credits that make health care affordable for many Americans 50-plus expired at the end of 2025. Without these tax credits, many Americans will have to go without the health care they need. That puts their health at risk, and it’s unacceptable.

Your lawmaker has a chance right now to keep them going and help more people get the health coverage they need in 2026.

With everything becoming less affordable, it’s time for Congress to protect Americans’ health and pocketbooks.

As your constituent, I am urging you to renew the health care premium tax credits that expired in December.

Without the enhanced premium tax credits, health care will be unaffordable for millions of Americans. Many will go without health care altogether because families can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars more for their health care premiums.

People in our district work hard and pay their bills, but they still can’t afford the rising costs of health care.  That’s especially true for Americans ages 50-64. They already pay premiums that are up to three times higher than those of younger enrollees. The enhanced premium tax credits have helped these Americans afford coverage for years and should be extended again.

In some states, some household health insurance premiums will go up by over 30% this year. Americans can’t afford those increases when budgets are already stretched thin.

I am asking you to move quickly and renew these enhanced premium tax credits. As your constituent and as a voter, I will be watching closely to see what lawmakers do to make health care more affordable.
