I'm writing as your constituent to urge you to fully fund services for older New Yorkers in the FY26 City Budget.

The Mayor’s current proposal doesn’t meet the scale or scope needed to support our rapidly growing aging population. As the cost of living continues to rise, and the number of older adults in New York grows, we need real investment—not the bare minimum.

Please fight to add $622 million to the FY26 budget for aging services, including:
•	$500 million for repairs and upgrades to Older Adult Centers (OACs), which still face years of deferred maintenance. These centers are more than just buildings—they’re lifelines, offering meals, wellness programs, digital literacy, and access to vital services.
•	$44 million to expand case management, so older adults can get help with food, housing, and home care.
•	$78 million to fight food insecurity, including:
            o $57 million to cover years of food cost increases, and
            o $21 million to ensure home-delivered meals are available 7 days a week.

Older New Yorkers built this city and deserve to age in place with dignity and support. Right now, they make up 20% of the city’s population, yet the Department for the Aging receives less than 1% of the city budget.
