You’ll be seeing red at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 28, as more than 50 volunteer advocates from around the state come to Pierre. They will be in town January 27 and January 28 for AARP South Dakota's Volunteer Summit and Day at the Capitol. Over those two days, they will be learning about how to be more engaged in communities as they host events and share valuable information and resources with South Dakotans age 50-plus.
There are two legislative events that are part of the program, and I hope you will be able to attend. I know our volunteers would love the chance to meet with you and talk with you about issues that are important to older adults.
First, there will be a legislative social on Monday, January 27, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Hills/Highlands Ballroom at the Clubhouse Hotel/Red Rossa. Then, they will host a delicious lunch with ribs and all the fixings on Tuesday, January 28, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda.
I know this group of advocates is excited about coming to Pierre and look forward to talking with you and other lawmakers. I hope you can join them for both of these events and thank you for your service in Pierre.
Thank you.
