AARP Massachusetts is working to ban Bitcoin ATMs because they are being used by scammers to steal money from people and there are hundreds of them across the state. This needs to get done before the end of the session. $19,000 is leaving our state every day and enriching criminal fraudsters. Scams and fraud are on the rise and when everyone is struggling to get by, losing anything is hard, not to mention potentially losing a lifetime of savings.

I urge you to support House Bill 1247 and Senate Bill 3048, known as the "SCAM Act," Let's join the growing list of states that have banned Bitcoin ATMs. Let's stand up for the thousands of people who've been victimized and let's prevent the next innocent person from being defrauded.
