Whether you are new or returning, as our legislators, the AARP community welcomes you.  We look forward to working with you on the many opportunities and challenges ahead of us, as a community of constituents and elected representatives.

As an AARP advocate, I want you to know how important Social Security is to me.  I urge you to be a champion for Social Security and make saving it for hardworking Americans a top priority.

Social Security is not a handout – it’s a benefit that we have worked hard for and paid into with every paycheck our entire working lives. We deserve to know it will be there for us. Every single day, seniors and those with a disability rely on Social Security benefits as a crucial part of their retirement security – or just to make ends meet. 
 
As your constituent, I need to know that you will help advocate for our hard-earned benefits. We need Social Security to be strong for the long-term, and ultimately able to pay for the benefits Americans have worked all their lives to earn. We must meet the long-term challenge, and this is your chance to be a champion for the future of Social Security.
