Stand Up for Bay Area Transportation

Millions of Bay Area residents rely on public transit every day to get to work, attend medical appointments, and stay connected with friends, family, and their communities. Yet transit systems across the region are facing significant funding shortfalls that could lead to major service cuts.

At AARP, we believe no one should lose their independence simply because they can't afford to drive. Reliable, affordable public transportation helps people of all ages stay active, connected, and engaged in the communities they call home.

The Regional Transit Measure would provide dedicated funding to help prevent major transit service reductions. Through a half-cent sales tax increase in Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Contra Costa counties, and a one-cent sales tax increase in San Francisco, the measure is projected to generate approximately $980 million annually over the next 14 years.

A YES vote on the Regional Transit Measure is an investment in a more connected, accessible, and age-friendly future for the Bay Area.
