Tell Your Lawmaker to Support Caregivers

Pass HB 4677, the Family Caregiver Tax Credit

Across Illinois, family caregivers assist their parents, spouses and other loved ones so they can live at home—where they want to be—and out of costly, taxpayer-funded nursing homes.

AARP recently surveyed Illinois registered voters age 40-plus about caring for their families and the cost of being a caregiver and learned that family caregivers spend an average of $7,000 out of pocket on costly care for their loved ones – nearly 20% of their income.

Tell your lawmaker to support HB 4676, the Family Caregiver Tax Credit, which would make family caregivers eligible for a tax credit for expenses paid related to the care of a family member.
