TAKE ACTION!
Older workers should be judged only on how well they can do their job, never on their age – but nearly 2 in 3 older workers say they have seen or experienced age discrimination. Since the pandemic started, things have only gotten worse, and the unemployment toll for older workers is the worst it has been in half a century.
Age discrimination is wrong. New Jersey lawmakers can fix it. New Jersey's current law allows employers not to hire or promote workers over 70 years old – despite our workforce getting older and working longer. Right now, our state lawmakers are considering a bill (S397) that will help level the playing field for older workers by eliminating this discriminatory language.
Tell your state lawmakers: Be a champion for older workers, pass S397 now!
