Urge Governor Hochul to Establish a SNAP Restaurant Meals Program!

Sent Your Message

The coronavirus pandemic has left many New Yorkers vulnerable and struggling with food insecurity. Legislation currently before Governor Kathy Hochul would address food insecurity by creating the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP), which would allow SNAP participants use their benefits to purchase prepared meals. This public-private partnership would be of great help to vulnerable populations who are unable to cook for themselves.

Please urge Governor Hochul to sign S.64 (Persaud)/ A.1524 (Reyes) into law to help elderly and disabled SNAP recipients who may not have access to a kitchen or the ability to cook. Allowing the use of SNAP benefits to purchase hot and/or prepared foods which would improve their access to nutritious foods and quality of life.
