Fight Budget Cuts that Put Seniors at Risk

Governor Malloy’s budget erodes the programs, from prescription drugs to nutrition programs, home health care and more, which make it possible for seniors to afford to stay at home and avoid more costly institutional care. It also adds financial strain for family caregivers, who are spending an average of nearly 20 percent of their income providing care for a family member or other loved one, according to an AARP Research Report.

Please ask legislators to reject cuts to the CT Home Care Program for Elders that will limit health care and services seniors need to live independently at home.

Dear [Decision Maker],

Please reject the Governor's proposed budget cuts that make it unaffordable for seniors to get the care and services they need to live safely and independently at home.

Please reject damaging cuts that threaten the independence and health of our seniors. Make cost-effective home care services a budget priority and reject the cap on the CT Home Care Program for Elders.

Thank you,
