CARE Act SB 2215 in House

We need you to act today to support North Dakota family caregivers.

Nearly 62,100 North Dakotans care for older parents, spouses, adults and children with disabilities and other loved ones so they can live independently in their homes and communities. They assist with meal preparation, managing finances, transportation, and much more.

Many family caregivers also perform medical or nursing tasks for their loved ones – like complex medication management, wound care, and injections. Yet, most receive little or no training for these important duties.

That’s why AARP is asking the North Dakota Legislature to pass the Caregiver, Advise, Record, Enable (CARE) Act to help make family caregivers’ big responsibilities a little bit easier. A no-cost, commonsense solution, the CARE Act would help family caregivers when their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home.

The ND bill (SB 2215) has passed the Senate. Now it is the House of Representatives turn, and they could vote any day and need to hear from you about your support!
