Budget Alert: Please Take Action to Preserve Core Senior Services

Legislators are hard at work crafting a final budget deal.  But before they agree to a final deal, make sure they know what’s at stake for Connecticut seniors.

In just the past few years seniors have faced tens of millions of dollars in cuts to home care services, new co-pays and fees, more than 25% cut in Alzheimer’s respite, elimination and eligibility cuts to senior nutrition and other health programs, and enrollment freezes for visiting nursing, adult day care and Meals on Wheels provided through the CT Home Care Program for Elders.

Click on the send message button below to ask your lawmakers to save home care and vital senior services.

Save Home Care and Senior Services

Dear [Decision Maker],

I know you are hard at work developing a state budget and as you're making final decisions, I am asking you to please consider how years of budget cuts are impacting Connecticut seniors and family caregivers. In just the past few years seniors have faced tens of millions of dollars in cuts to home care services, new co-pays and fees, more than 25% cut in Alzheimer's respite, elimination and eligibility cuts to senior nutrition and other health programs, and enrollment freezes for visiting nursing, adult day care and Meals on Wheels provided through the CT Home Care Program for Elders.

Please shield seniors from yet another round of damaging cuts. Save the CT Home Care Program for Elders and core services, so seniors can remain at home and get the help they need.

Sincerely,
