AARP Volunteers Call for Secure Choice in Albany

Help More New Yorkers Save for Their Future

Over half of private sector workers in New York State have no access to a retirement savings plan at work, which creates a significant barrier toward saving for the future. AARP supports the creation of a state-facilitated retirement savings option, known as the "Secure Choice Savings Program," to provide a convenient way for people to save on the job, and to continue saving if they change jobs.

The Secure Choice Savings Program offers a way to help millions of New Yorkers take control of their future, helping them grow savings so they can handle the rising cost of health care and basic needs. The plan would be optional for employers and employees, and since it would be funded through employee contributions, it wouldn't cost taxpayer dollars to run.

Right now, lawmakers in Albany are working on the state budget, and we need your help to make sure this important program is included. Please take a moment now to send a message to your state legislators urging them to include the Secure Choice Savings Program in the budget.
