End Waiting Lists for Crucial Services

Thousands of New Yorkers across the state are stuck on waiting lists for non-Medicaid-funded home- and community-based services for programs such as the Expanded In-home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP), Senior Transportation Services, and home delivered meals.

These programs are vital to helping older New Yorkers remain in their homes rather than having to move to costly, taxpayer-funded institutions. Such programs also support family caregivers in their labor of love. New York State should make an additional investment in non-Medicaid home- and community-based care that not only assists older persons but their family caregivers as well.

Final negotiations on the state budget are happening right now. Please take a moment to urge your state lawmakers to provide adequate funding to end the waiting lists as part of this year's state budget.
