Time is running out for Iowa family caregivers!
now, the Iowa legislature has an opportunity to pass the 2018 Iowa CARE Act—a
no-cost, commonsense bill that will support Iowa’s 317,000 caregiving families
when their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home. The bill, in most recent form, has no
recorded opposition. But time is running out to get the job done.

But the fact remains today: too many of Iowa’s family caregivers, from across
the state, are not involved in receiving instruction about the medical tasks
they need to perform for their loved ones.
2018 Iowa CARE Act would make sure hospitals identify, notify, and provide
after-care instructions to family caregivers when their spouses, parents, or
other loved ones are in the hospital – prior to discharge.
