Only 2 Weeks Left toTell Legislative Leaders: Pass the Family Caregiver Tax Credit!

The average family caregiver spends almost $7,000 a year out-of-pocket to help care for their loved ones, which amounts, on average, to 20% of their total income.
The Family Caregiver Tax Credit (House Bill 3911) would reimburse family members for a portion of what they spend caring for adult family members who need assistance with activities of daily living. The language was originally filed as a bill by the
late Representative Chris Walsh of Framingham.
His commitment to supporting family caregivers was critical to the passage
of the CARE Act in 2016 and it continued during this legislative session with
financial support for family caregivers through a tax credit.
Use the form below to send a message that will go to four legislators who will be key in the decision to move the Family Caregiver Tax Credit to a vote: Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, Senate President Harriet Chandler, and Ways and Means Chairs Jeff Sanchez and Karen Spilka. Let them know that Massachusetts needs to help family caregivers who are struggling to keep thier loved ones cared for at home.
Additionally, if you are willing to make a phone call to one of the leaders in the House, it could help highlight this important legislation.
Please call Speaker of the House, Robert DeLeo at 617.722.2500
AND/OR
Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, Jeffrey Sanchez at 617.722.2990.
Use the message to the right as a script and urge them to pass House Bill 3911, The Family Caregiver Tax Credit!
