Use The Space Below To Tell Your Lawmakers Why Senior Services Are Important To You

AARP Wyoming is fighting to restore funding for programs that  help all Wyomingites age in the home, rather than costly nursing homes.  These programs help family caregivers take care of their loved ones with tasks such as bathing, light medical assistance, and support our local senior centers.

Dear [Decision Maker],

I am writing to you today to let you know why it is important to me to stay in my home as I age.

The appropriations committee is being asked to consider restoring some funding to three programs that were cut in recent years: Wyoming Home Services, the National Family Caregiver Program, and our Wyoming Senior Centers. I'm writing to ask you to support this funding request.

As a member of AARP Wyoming, an organization with 84,000 members in the state of Wyoming, it is important to me that we keep our state's budget balanced. As you know, the cost of supporting home services ($2,000/year) is a fraction of the cost of nursing homes care ($90,000/year).

We understand you are working hard in service of the State and wish you a productive 2019 Legislative Session.

Sincerely,
