North Dakotans Prefer to Age in Place
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum included ideas in his budget that would allow more North Dakotans to access services designed to help them stay in their homes for as long as possible. At AARP, we call that concept Aging in Place. We hear from our members about the desire to remain in their homes and communities - in fact, about 90 percent of older Americans prefer to grow older at home.
We're asking you to forward the note below (or add your own comments/stories) to state senators in your district so they understand this is an important issue for you, your family and your neighbors.
AARP is excited that the governor and the North Dakota Department of Human Services are attempting to make systematic changes to the long term care system by enhancing these Home and Community Based Services. By forwarding this e-mail, you'll let legislators know you stand by their efforts!
