Tell Nebraska Lawmakers to Support Paid Family and Medical Leave

State senators on the Legislature’s Business and Labor Committee need to hear from you now.

LB 311, the Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Act, provides paid leave for Nebraska workers to care for themselves or a family member with a serious health condition, a new child, or a military family member preparing for or returning from deployment.

Nebraskans need workplace flexibility so they can care for their loved ones without putting their jobs and finances at risk. As the state’s population ages, more Nebraskans will have to care for aging family members.

Please send a message to your senator on the Business and Labor Committee today. Consider sharing a personal story in your message about the need for paid leave. Urge them to support LB 311 and move to the full Legislature for debate.

Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Act

Dear [Decision Maker],

I'm writing to ask you to support advancing LB 311 from the Business and Labor Committee to the full Legislature for debate. Nearly two in three family caregivers in the workforce are caring for a relative age 65 or older. Nebraskans should be able to care for their family members without worrying about losing their income.

Thank you for considering support of LB 311. Your support for paid family and medical leave will help Nebraskans stay in the workforce and also provide essential care to their loved ones.

Sincerely,
