Arizona's 800,000+ family caregivers are the first line of defense against older Arizonans being forced out of their homes and into costly, taxpayer-funded nursing homes.
Family caregivers assist their parents, spouses and other loved ones with eating, transferring, dressing and much more -- and contribute financially to provide this care. On average family caregivers spend $7000 a year out of their own pocket on care for their loved ones.

Include funding for Family Caregivers in the State Budget
Dear [Decision Maker],
Please place funding for Senate Bill 1172 "Family Caregiver's Grant; Pilot" in the State Budget.
Under SB 1172 Arizona's caregiving families would be able to apply for a grant, not greater than $1,000, to partially cover an expense that will allow an older relative to remain with family, as opposed to being forced to move to more costly nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Only taxpayers with Arizona adjusted gross income less than $75,000 (single) or $150,000 (joint filers) would qualify for the credit. That's why I urge you to fund in the state budget SB 1172 - Family Caregivers; Pilot; Grant Program to help make family caregivers' big responsibilities a little bit easier by reducing their financial strain and helping them continue caregiving longer.
Please fund SB 1172 in the state budget to help Arizona families continue to care for their older relatives as long as they possibly can.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP][Your Email]
