AARP Needs Your Help to Protect Maryland Ratepayers

Despite the calls and letters from hundreds of AARP volunteer advocates like you, the Maryland House of Delegates passed HB 653/SB 572 "Electric Companies and Gas Companies – Rate Regulation – Alternative Rate Plans." Now this arcane legislation, which kneecaps the role of the Public Service Commission to protect against unfair rate hikes, is under consideration in the Senate.

The Utility Wish List puts Maryland consumers at risk by upending the regulatory authority of the Public Service Commission, by skewing regulatory proceedings to favor utilities at the expense of gas and electric customers, households and businesses.

Ask your State Senator to consider how these changes to regulatory oversight of the gas and electric industry benefit you!
