TELL THE OREGON LEGISLATURE TO CREATE AN AGE DISCRIMINATION TASK FORCE

An Age Discrimination Task Force is needed because 62% of workers 40 and older have seen or experienced age discrimination in the workplace, and yet Oregon’s outdated laws don’t offer older workers protections against discrimination in hiring or layoffs.

Please fill out the form to send a message to Oregon Legislators urging them to support HB 4076.

Dear [Decision Maker],

HB 4076 creates a workplace Age Discrimination Task Force to convene diverse stakeholder groups to identify and evaluate the impacts of age discrimination in the workplace and establish policy recommendations to the legislature by fall of 2020.

AARP Oregon and the many other groups endorsing HB 4076 believe that the Oregon legislature needs to take action now to begin to make real changes so we can return to the legislature in 2021 with substantive policy recommendations. According to a 2018 AARP survey, 82% of Oregon workers age 40 and older support stronger age discrimination in the workplace laws in Oregon.

I hope I can count on you to support this vital legislation.

Sincerely,
