Red tape is getting in the way of Ohioans being able to access the care they need.
In Ohio, 81 of 88 counties lack an adequate number of health care professionals to serve their counties’ population, and current state law limits patients’ ability to access primary care offered by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), such as your nurse practictioner, unless they contract with doctors. Together, we can help change this.
Contact your legislator today and tell them to vote yes on House Bill 177. Tell them the time that clinicians, both physicians and APRNs, spend on unnecessary paperwork is less time spent with patients and family caregivers. 22 other states have already removed restrictive and outdated barriers that prevent people from accessing the full range of care provided by APRNs and is an important step toward securing full practice authority for Ohio's APRNs, especially in our underserved, rural areas.
It’s time Ohioans have access to the full range of skills that APRNs are educated and trained to provide. Red tape doesn't heal, APRNs do.
Vote YES on HB 177 so Ohioans have greater access to healthcare providers.
