Ask the Governor to veto SB861, SB235, and HB795

SB861, SB235, and HB795 are bad for Virginia. They threaten to undermine consumer protections provided by the ACA and could cause older Virginians to pay thousands more each year for their health insurance.

Send a message to Governor Northam and urge him to veto Senate Bill 861, Senate Bill 235, and House Bill 795. All three bills expand access to Association Health Plans. AARP opposes such plans because they are not subject to regulations regarding how much more insurers can charge older people, amounting to an "age tax." They also can discriminate based on occupation, geography, and other social factors.
