Now is NOT the Time to Raise Rates

Missouri, and the rest of the world is experiencing a massive economic downturn due the the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

At the same time the Missouri General Assembly passed a massive piece of legislation that would raise rates for customers of private monopoly utilities.

Now is not the time to raise rates, but it is the time to tell Governor Parson to veto the massive monopoly utility legislation.

Dear [Decision Maker],

The entire world has suffered from the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. Missourians are no exception. Missourians across the state have lost income, their jobs, even their lives.

I would urge you to veto House Bill 2120. Missourians cannot afford to see massive rate hikes in the midst of an international health and economic crisis.

Now is NOT the time to raise rates.

Sincerely,
