IT'S NOT TOO LATE:

The toll of COVID-19 on our nursing homes and long-term care facilities is nothing short of a disgrace.

And yet, Iowa does not require testing of all residents and staff in Iowa’s nursing homes and other long term care facilities. This needs to change and we need your help to change that.

Please act now! Tell our state officials to protect Iowans receiving long-term care in nursing facilities.

Contact the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals and tell them:

"Require and oversee regular testing of all nursing home residents and staff, and immediately after any case of COVID-19 has been identified."

Protections For Nursing Home Residents

Dear [Decision Maker],

To date, 364 Iowa nursing home residents' deaths are directly related to COVID-19, representing over half of the total documented COVID-19-deaths in Iowa.

You must require and oversee regular testing of all nursing home residents and staff, and immediately after any case of COVID-19 has been identified.

The deaths of nursing home residents and staff from COVID-19 are not statistics to be ignored or explained away. They are mothers, fathers, grandparents, and spouses with families who love them.

Thank you in advance for acting to protect seniors in nursing homes.

Sincerely,
