Iowa already has safe, secure and reliable elections.

Iowan's just showed their confidence in our absentee voting process with record turn out in the June 2nd Primary. And increased absentee voting three-fold.

As Secretary of State Paul Pate rightly touted, “The level of civic engagement among our citizens is unrivaled.”

Secretary Pate, in order to encourage Iowans to vote safely during the global cornavirus pandemic, mailed every registered voter an absentee ballot request form.

Now there has been a suggested amendment to a previously non-controversial bill, that would limit his ability to do so again.

Please tell Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver to NOT schedule HF 2486 for debate for a final vote in the Senate. This legislation would make it more difficult for Iowans to vote safely.

Keep Iowa's Voters Safe

Dear [Decision Maker],

Iowan's just showed their confidence in our absentee voting process with record turn out in the June 2nd Primary. Votes coming in absentee increased three-fold.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, it's important to keep Iowans, especially older Iowans, safe and continue to provide them a secure, reliable way to vote.

Please do not schedule HF 2486 for debate for a final vote in the Senate. This legislation would make it more difficult for Iowans to vote safely.

Sincerely,
