their loved ones and their jobs. Here’s what you need to know:
- The Eligible Leave for Employee Caregiving Time
(ELECT) Act allows working caregivers to use their existing personal sick leave
to care for a family member.
- Leave can be used when a family member is sick,
injured, or has a medical appointment.
- Under ELECT, sick leave can be used to care for
a child, spouse, domestic partner, sibling, parent, mother-in-law,
father-in-law, grandchild, grandparent, or stepparent.
