New Hampshire Senior Leadership Series - 2018 APPLICATION

 

The goal of the series is to provide support and training in the advocacy and leadership skills necessary to promote livable communities, including community-based systems of support for New Hampshire citizens as they age.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and participants will be notified by March 16, 2018.Please complete and return Sections I, II, and III by February 23, 2018.

Participants will meet five times over eight months and receive intensive training on a wide variety of educational and community topics. The series will take place in Plymouth, Manchester, Concord and Lebanon

Participants of the 2018 New Hampshire Senior Leadership can expect:

Five interactive sessions presented by respected leaders in community organizing, leadership development,and best practices in advocacy issues of older adults. The sessions will cover the following topics:

o Aging and Society—New Hampshire and National Impacts: April 19 & 20, 2018 
o Community Engagement and Livable Communities: May 17, 2018 
o The Legislative Process: June 21, 2018 
o Aging Well in our Communities: September 6, 2018 
o November 8, 2018: Group Presentations and Graduation: November 8, 2018

• Upon acceptance, each participant is asked to pay a $45 contribution to the program; it will be the only cost to participate. People needing additional supports (e.g. respite care, transportation, interpreter, physical assistance) will be assisted in every way possible to facilitate their attendance and participation.

• Application deadline is February 23, 2018.  A selection committee will choose this year’s participants based on the content of their applications. Candidates will be notified by March 16, 2018.
